Glymm Box May 2012

My May 2012 Glymm Box arrived today! Or well I should say Glymm Bag now since they've officially gone 'eco-friendly' and got rid of their signature pink box and replaced it with a pink bag.

This month's box was all right. If I said it could have a theme, I would say skin treatments, since everything, minus the perfume samples, are treatments of some sort. Let's see each item more closely.

CAUDALIE Crushed Cabernet Scrub
This is said to be a strong scrub to smooth away imperfections and which also contains cellulite-fighting oils. It has a weird smell, but I'm anxious to try this out since I'm a huge fan of scrubs. Full size is $29 for 150g.

NU•ME HydroPunch Hydrating Conditioner
This conditioner is supposed to turn dull and damaged hair into vibrant, healthy strands. Good for dry and colored hair. I've already tried this out and I really detest the smell of it. It smells like men's cologne which I don't like very much so I probably won't use it again. In terms of its affect on my hair, it's all right. Full size is $24.99 for 250mL bottle.

MEREADESSO Lip Treats in Sheer Burgundy
Apparently this shade is part of their exclusive product launch. It's definitely not my cup of tea in terms of color. I would have preferred the lighter pink shade or even just clear. The treatment is said to moisturize lips while adding a punch of color and it also doubles as a lip primer for gloss. This is a full-sized item which comes in a pack of 2 for $28

COOLA Mineral Matte Cucumber Face Sunscreen
This is a hydrating and refreshing sunblock that is infused with certified organic ingredients like vitamins, antioxidants, shea butter and Borage Seed oil. This company also donates a portion of their sales for cancer research which I think is lovely. It also contains 30SPF. I'm also a huge fan of sunscreen and have been trying to include it in my daily routine more frequently, so I'm excited to use this. Full size is $36 for 50mL

CAUDALIE Vinosource SOS Thirst-Quenching Serum + Moisturizing Sorbet
Both samples are to be used together. The serum captures and continually diffuses water deep within the skin to impart intense hydration, and then the sorbet awakens skin's hydration mechanisms and replenishes its water reserves. I'll probably get around to using this while using the scrub that I got. Full size for the serum is $48 for 30mL aand the sorbet is $38 for 40mL

CK Shock for Him/Her
All I'm going to say is that the one for Her smells pretty decent and I would actually wear the sample, but I wouldn't buy the full size. As for the men's cologne, it smells terrible! I'm just really picky with perfume/cologne though :') Full size for both is $45 for 50mL

In all, I'm a little disappointed compared to last month's. I would like it better if there were a bit more cosmetics than treatments.

If you'd like to sign up for Glymm Box and live in Canada, you may do so by clicking here. It's only $12 a month (:

  2. Glymm seems to be very similar to Luxebox in their contents. I've gotten nearly the same items in my Luxeboxes (although not in the same box). I'm contemplating switching to another.. testing out Topbox and Glossybox. Then comparing!

    1. Yep, however there's more independent, unknown brands from Glymm. I have tried Luxebox before and have actually reactivated my subscription :D Also I've been dying to get Topbox but they're always sold out! Even months in advance. I havent tried Glossybox yet though.

  3. I've been thinking about trying out one of the Dutch versions of these boxes, but even though they're not super expensive, I'd hate getting a box with stuff I would never use. Decisions decisions..

    1. Yea that's definitely one con about these boxes, but I find that they're pretty worth it in the end since there has been times where I have gotten a full-sized item that's worth even more than the price of the box.
