Libre Tea Glass'n'Poly Mug Review

At last, it has arrived! My very own Libre Tea mug that I won as a giveaway from Sweep Tight. (way back in December actually *cough*) After some trouble and difficulty with Canada Post, my mug never arrived even though the tracking code claimed for it to be delivered! Libre Tea was ever so nice enough to send me a replacement one via FedEx for free! Thank you SO much Libre Tea!

This was actually the first giveaway item I have ever won! It just took a while to get here.

It came in this extremely elegant packaging with a little accordion folded card with instructions, how to care and safety.

You can buy this mug in their shop for $32.50 AND, their website even has a tool where you can search your area for the closest retailer that carries their product! Extremely neat. As far as I know, they're based around Richmond, BC, making them 100% Canadian and they ship worldwide! I'm not sure if their products can be found in the US or not.

The Libre glass ’n poly has a health-conscious glass interior for fresh taste and a durable polycarbonate exterior for ‘on the go’ practicality. The stainless steel tea filter is surrounded by BPA free polypropylene as is the lid interior. Can be used 2 ways to brew and travel with loose leaf tea 'on the go' – tea in the tea glass or tea on top of the twist off filter.

Details
Volume: 280mL
Size: approximately 6.0” tall, 3.0” diameter of drinking glass, with handle that adds another 1 in.
Materials: glass, polycarbonate, stainless steel

The mug comes with a twist off BPA free lid (top), removable BPA stainless steel filter (bottom), thermal bottle with a double wall (glass interior, polycarbonate exterior), large stable base and easy grip handle.

Now, because I don't have any loose tea leaves right now (they're in a box somewhere), I decided to use a teabag of Chai tea. Of course after having done this method shown above, I realized I did it wrong! But nevertheless, it's still effective.

The correct—or suggested—way of using the mug is to put the tea leaves/bag into the filter, screw on the lid, fill the mug with your water, sugar, etc., then screw on the lid with the filter and turn it upside down. You can shake it a bit to mix in the sugar, etc. Then flip it back over and carefully open the lid and you're ready to enjoy!

Personally it doesn't matter to me which way I get the flavor into the mug, however method #1 was a bit messy. Doesnt the Libre Tea logo remind you of China Glaze's?

The amazing thing about this mug is the fact that it's double lined, which makes it cool to the touch, no matter how hot it is. Also, because it's double lined, it allows the tea to stay hot for up to an hour! Which is fantastic.

My overall impression with this tea mug is absolute satisfaction! I mean, I just got it about an hour ago! It was instant love for sure and I recommend it to tea lovers of all kinds! For me, this couldn't have come at a better time because I'm currently sick with a sore throat and a cold and I do nothing but drink tea at a time like this.

Overall Rating:

I don't think I can find a single flaw about this product. It's sleek, it's stylish, it's amazing! Maybe if they made a bigger size I'd be happy (as a mug that is). However, they already have other sizes, but no handle. I can deal.

Thank you once again to Sweep Tight for the giveaway and for Libre Tea for their amazing product and customer service.

  1. I never realised a mug could be so pretty! I'm a tea lover myself, so I could see myself using one of these.;)

    1. I know, right?! I've seen some pretty ugly tea mugs and when I found out I won this I was so happy because it looks so pretty and not so clunky and weird
