Liebster Award

I've never done this before, nor have I ever been tagged/nominated/awarded. The lovely miss eight over at Beauty Infinitum has tagged me with this award.

The rules are:
The Liebster Award is for bloggers with under 300 followers and the rules of the award is that the nominee must link back to whoever awarded them, write 11 random facts about themselves, answer the 11 questions from the award giver, and then nominate another 11 bloggers and make up 11 questions for them to answer. It's a great way for new and undiscovered bloggers to meet new people, get more followers and find some blogs that they want to follow.

11 Random Facts
1. Despite my addiction to all things nails and nail polish, I have never ever gotten a manicure or pedicure in my life. I never believed in spending money for someone to do something you can do yourself.
2. I have been in some shape/form, stabbed twice and both were from my brother. Once with a pen, second with a box cutter.
3. I have dreams about going to either Japan, Florida or California. I've been to Florida many times, but I guess my mind misses it. I crave to go to Japan and Cali, but circumstance won't allow me at this time.
4. I used to have a dog when I was younger. Her name was Foley, named after a Miami Vice character of all things. She was a crossbreed of a Collie and something else. She basically was a Lassie dog, minus the long hair/fur.
5. I rarely wash my face. I know this sounds gross, but I find that I don't have a lot of problems with my skin that I can get away with washing it once or twice a week.
6. I never went to my highschool prom. I never had the desire to go and I still have zero regrets about not going.
7. I haven't worn a dress since I was 7 (that's about 15 years btw). I hate dresses and all things girly. I'm a shirt and pants kind of gal. Also, my body has changed into an extremely unflattering state that dresses would look terrible on me. Not to mention uncomfortable.
8. I played girls ice hockey for 8 years. Yes, I'm a real authentic Canadian now because of it ;) haha. I really enjoyed the game and I still miss it now. Last winter I went skating for the first time in maybe 2 years and had some difficulty skating! It may have been because it was at an extremely busy outdoor rink or the fact that my skates were too big.
9. I don't watch TV anymore. That doesn't mean that I don't watch TV shows in general, it just means that I haven't sat in front of a TV in a long while to watch the shows that I love these days.
10. I'm a music geek and I love all kinds of music. I have been going to as many concerts of different genres/varieties over the past few years and have discovered many new artists out there that have shaped my current favorites. I'm a HUGE supporter of Canadian music because we have such an amazing scene.
11. I hate coffee and I don't drink alcohol. I find them both disgusting in smell and taste. I've never been able to get myself to like either, no matter how hard I've tried. Many people think I have moral issues surrounding alcohol, but honestly I just don't like the taste. Many people suggest mixing it with pop or juice, but I rather just have the latter by themselves.


11 Questions to Answer
1. Do you have any holiday traditions?
Not really, no. Ever since my parents divorced over 15 years ago, then my great aunt/uncle passed away, then I got a boyfriend, Christmas has been different every year. I kind of like it that way. If anything, I would say that bringing home my mom's Christmas box from work (that I now get one of my own of) and opening it has been our only consistent "tradition" I guess.
2. What's your favourite type of nail polish? (e.g. sparkly, cream..)
Oh geez...either jelly or duochrome.
3. What's the weather like where you are?
Currently sunny, 3⁰C, windy and maybe a bit rainy?
4. Are you doing anything for New Year's Eve?
Nothing has been planned yet, but I may.
5. What were your favourite movies or TV shows of 2012?
Hmm, well I watched a bunch of shows that were not even from 2012, but if I have to say 2012 specifically, I would say: Elementary, Dexter season 7 and Breaking Bad season 5. Movie-wise, I'd say: Wreck-It Ralph, Avengers, and Brave.
6. What's your favourite seasonal treat?
Hmm... probably gingerbread, which btw I havent even had any yet! I mean, I've had gingerbread lattes from Starbucks, but that doesn't count D:
7. What's the best vacation you've ever had? (Staycations count too!)
Maybe Glenn and I's trip to Ottawa 2 summers ago.
8. Is there anything you're anticipating for 2013?
To excel in my career? To maybe expand my creativity even more and maybe even start something small on the side. OH and to finally move!

Neither
10. What's the most expensive makeup item you've ever bought?
Does the Naked 2 palette count? I mean, it's a palette... but if I had to say one single item, maybe my Lancome Hypnose mascara. That shit ain't cheap.
11. Would you ever backpack across a country or continent (or have you)?
Depends. I'm not into that kind of stuff. I'm more of a hotel person than a hostel.
